Learning Manifesto

Personally, I learn best when I am given the choice to choose my source of an outcome. Having the ownership of an authentic project gives us a voice to express our own thinking. With the use of collaboration as engaged thinking and problem solving that can be applied in the classroom or during, The COVA model does work for me as a student and educator. I have always been one to present ideas and learning through my own vesicle. The piece that benefits me the most is the opportunity of choice. Throughout creating projects or even essays, I seem to show the most success through making the choice and allotted to show my creativity. The challenge I have in the model is making is authentic and raw; I tend to use many resources. I do not think it is a weakness to explore and research but it is about how I interpret and give credit back to those sources.

I have adopted this process for my own students in the classroom. Here are a few tools that I have implemented into my instructional, engagement, quick checks, assessments and data collection;
  • ·       Digital Data Folders (Office365) Individual accounts for assessment tracking and goal setting
  • ·       Edpuzzle, Kahoot, Readworks (tools used for student access)
  • ·       PowerPoint, Prezi, Movie Maker, Publisher, Blogs (Project options)
  • ·       Tedtalks, youtube videos, padlet (ideas for ePortfolio)

Edpuzzle https://edpuzzle.com/ This is the homepage to get started - Video (Tutorial and Review). I use this site to create personal video quizzes for all types of assessments for my students to use in class with their laptops. 

Official Kahoot site to get your own classroom started  I started using Kahoot as a review game in my classroom and the students request it every time we analyze our data! Check out this quick video! 



Readworks has brought great digital learning into my reading class. This website allows me to create, assign and grade students reading comprehension easily.
