"Everything happens for a reason,"- These words I have tattooed on my back is the saying I live by. Growing up in a poor school district with low-income families, mine included showed me that there is no place I want to be then with students that remind me of myself. I have taught the past 5 years at a title one school with Hurst Euless Bedford and have truly found my home and calling as a 5th-grade reading, writing, and social studies teachers. My education and hard work continue to grow as I have taken on this journey of getting my Masters In Technology and Leadership at Lamar University! I can't wait to see where these new experiences take me. I would hope to find myself in a leadership role mentoring and leading students whether that be in administration, instructional specialist and or campus coach/mentor. My passion is to see the students succeed and meet their personal and academic goals. The connection and relationship that I build with students is the most important piece to have before I can ask them to work or do anything for me.
My family is small but powerful! My children have four legs and huge hearts. I care for Mercedes (top left black dog) and Red (top right red dog) like they are my children. They consume my attention and time. I wouldn't know what to do with my time without them. My nephew Maverick is my favorite person to be with. He is the joy of my life and I cherish every moment we spend together. The simple things he teaching me are endless but have a great impact. My best friend and partner is Alisha (Ranger Hat, always). We have been each other's rock for the past 6 years and counting. She has been my biggest fan during these trying times in my master's program. I couldn't ask for a better person to walk by my side for the good and bad.
