edshelf -Digital Tools

Shaw- edshelf
I look for resources that I can teach my students to use as well as myself. I like digital tools that the students are able to use easily but are taking something away. I became very interested in the use of digital assessments this past school year. I give short cycle assessments at the end of each reading unit, but wanted something more than just a grade. I wanted students to be able to connect and set academic goals from their data. The end of the year survey results from my students reflected they not only enjoyed, but made personal connections from using technology based quizzes. Students need to be exposed to technology at early ages, not just games and selfies, but creating or making a game and learning to edit or insert selfies into a creative project. I wish my campus had a large portion of technology because I would use it daily. We have a set of laptops for our fifth-grade level that I use twice a week for reading articles, digital data folders, quick assessments, video lesson and project-based learning.
